.:: ANNEKA SVENSKA SPEAKS FOR OUR WOLVES! ::.

We, Nordulv members, want to express our deep gratitude to Anneka for signing our Petition and supporting our wolves. Here is her message:

Dear All,

The wolf, for a start, has been in Sweden and most of the world way before man and if it wasn't for man, then the wolf would still be thriving in the countryside keeping the natural balance of nature.

The wolf was originally decreased in numbers due to euthanasia by means of shooting and other methods of cruel and painful entrapment, so that farmers
could 'protect' their livestock, which for a start, is NOT native to Sweden and is yet another man-made destructive, greedy, decision upon the delicate
ecosystem that we all live in.

Many 'ignorant' and ill-informed people may assume that a wolf kills many sheep and decreases the numbers of a farmers stock, but in fact, the wolf
creates a natural ecological balance, as when wolves are within the community, the sheep sense it and naturally increase their numbers for protection. This is how it has been for centuries with any wild life living as natural prey within the land. So in fact, having wolves will encourage the breeding of sheep and increase a farmer's numbers.

The wolf is a vital part of the chain of predator and prey and must be protected in order to keep what is correct and native to the environment.
Also, the myth of wolves being evil killers needs to be addresses, as they are man fearing elusive creatures, which will stay as far away from man as they possibly can. We all hear horror stories about wolves and stories such as the werewolf myth has not helped this.

To not protect the wolf will result in another man-made disaster on the environment and let's face it, why does man try so hard to protect species destined for extinction only when it gets to the point when a few are left, when they can stop it well before it gets to that point. Do we really want to go and view such a free and beautiful creature behind bars in an unnatural, concrete zoo one day?

If you love your dog, then you should love the wolf, as all domestic dogs originated from the wolf and their affection and devotion to their pack is
unmatchable
, perhaps could be compared to the affection seen within an elephant tribe and a meercat group. They all bring food to the alpha female when she whelps and all look after the omega male and female, despite them both being bottom of the pack. They also only have a short lifespan of approx 7 years compared to the domestic dog, so any breeding needs to be encouraged. Also it is only the alpha male and female which produce once a year, so they do find it hard to breed and many of the pups do not survive to adulthood, unlike sheep and rabbits which breed incredible numbers.

My native United Kingdom does not have the wolf any longer (thanks to man and his gun!) and all I see are fields of harvested crops and fields stuffed for all ill-looking, fat, battery produced sheep and livestock for greedy human consumption. Should not the world and environment come first to protect one of nature's most majestic, gentle, intelligent and outstandingly beautiful creature.....The Wolf.
If we leave it alone, it will leave us alone and only help to serve the human race and it's delicate balance.

Love,
